Heart of America Legal Professionals Association

Members of NALS are bound by the objectives of this Association and the standards of conduct required of the legal profession.  Every member shall:

NALS Code of Ethics

  • Encourage respect for the law and the administration of justice;
  • Observe rules governing privileged communications and confidential information;
  • Promote and exemplify high standards of loyalty, cooperation, and courtesy;
  • Perform all duties of the profession with integrity and competence; and
  • Pursue a high order of professional attainment.

Integrity and high standards of conduct are fundamental to the success of this professional Association and its members.  This Code is promulgated by NALS and accepted by its members to accomplish these ends.

Membership Categories

Life Member is man honorary membership bestowed on a chapter member who exemplifies outstanding, long-term dedication and leadership with the local chapter. 

Retired Member has a total of five consecutive years as a member in good standing prior to retirement, and has attained the age of 62, or has retired due to physical disability.

Individual Member is a member in good standing, a primary member of only one local chapter.

Associate Member includes educators, judges and attorneys. May not vote or hold office.

Honorary Member is selected by the Board of Directors for outstanding or special service for the legal profession or this professional legal support Association.

Student Member attending an accredited program related to work of a legal nature and classified by that school as a full-time student.

Secondary Member is an individual member of another local chapter or state Association. May not vote or hold an office.
